TUESDAY 20th August

Discovering your Professional Self, Joni Rhodes
10.00am – 12.00pm
This amazing workshop will help you discover unique insights into your personality and suitable career options to achieve fulfilment in your personal and professional life using questionnaires, online tools and discussion you will learn about your strengths, how you communicate, your learning style and what motivates you!

Interview skills, Paul Barnes
10.00am – 12.00am
In this invaluable workshop, you will work together in teams to practice answering interview questions and gather tips on how to answer confidently and successfully. The interview is one of the key elements of the job search process, we will help you make a good impression.

CV Writing Workshop, Paul Barnes
2.00pm – 4.00pm
Your CV is the first point of contact with an employer and is the make or break of your job
application. This practical workshop covers the standard CV information requirements, how to stand out and write an effective CV to secure a job interview. Taught in the university's computer suite you'll have the chance to draft your own CV with a team of assistants on hand to talk you through it.

Pontoon App Testing, Marc Cook

At PONToon we have been putting together a number of new apps to aid job search and career progression, such as a new job search map, career guide and Virtual Reality journey planner. Join us to test out our tech, and let us know what you think.


WEDNESDAY 21st August

Start Your Own Business, WSX

This introductory workshop covers the basics of self-employment, looking at developing your business idea into a clear plan for success, understanding legislation and finances, and improving your sales and marketing skills. Starting a new business or working for yourself is exciting, but it can be scary too. With this workshop, you will feel empowered to move on with your journey to success.

Promotional Video Skills for Businesses, Rob Ulitski

This fun workshop will introduce you to the basic technical knowledge you need to shoot video on your mobile. Designed for those with small businesses and enterprises, you will learn how to create a short promotional video for sharing on websites and social media accounts.

Selling Online, Angela Chick, Etsy Group
2.00pm – 4.00pm
Run by experienced Etsy Seller Angela Chick, learn how easy it is to take a product to market these days. Angela will tell you a little bit about her experiences as well as the diverse routes to market the internet offers such as 'Etsy,' 'Not on the High Street,' and promotion on social media. This is an opportunity to hear first-hand from someone who has been through the process, and to take part in an interactive group session where you will build your own business idea.

The PONToon team and our project ambassadors would like you to join us for our Networking Fiesta to celebrate the hard work of participants and workshop leaders. Held at the Outside In Food Court, this evening is the chance to meet project partners, local business owners, community groups and discover more about the project.

THURSDAY 22nd August

Introduction to Photography, Paul Gonella
10.00am – 12.00pm
This short and sweet workshop for smartphones up to professional cameras will introduce you to the basics of good photography, including different composition techniques, camera settings, lighting and more.

Introduction to Video Skills, Rob Ulitski
10.00am – 12.00pm
This workshop is intended for people who haven't done any, or little, smartphone filmmaking. Often, the feeling is – where do I start? Covering the basic principles of filmmaking, this practical workshop will cover shooting and basic editing apps so you can get on with showcasing your creative side.

Introduction to Photo Editing, Rob Ulitski

This exciting workshop will cover some basic principles for beginners that will set you in good stead for better photo editing in the future. Photo editing allows designers and photographers to improve photos in countless ways. This can be as simple as cropping and rotating, or complex such as colour grading.

Cyber Security: Is your personal information safe, Lisa Sugiura

In this workshop you will learn the basics of cyber-security and staying safe online, questioning how much you should expose on social media as well as how to make the best use of available privacy settings. Social media is now the most common way to communicate online but how do you know if the information you are sharing is secure.
